"SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON have announced that they will co-headline a North American major-market summer tour beginning on July 25 on the East Coast. Plans are for the tour to play some twenty-five cities and wrap up early September on the West Coast. A full, confirmed schedule will be announced shortly. MANSON and SLAYER will each play full sets, and two support bands, yet to be determined, will open all shows."

I'm looking forward to it! My husband is a big Manson fan...and I like him too. I guess that puts to rest the rumors that either one of them would be on Ozzfest or SOTU
and the title of this thread made me think it had to do with Kim's other sig...which I loved! (the new one's cool too)

Weird: I like MM's music, but not him as a musician. Perhaps it's just a style issue with the media, etc. etc. Bad editing on the part of TV and print? I'm open to suggestions! For the Manson and Slayer fans here: I don't get this pairing, at least commercially (I CANNOT believe I just wrote that...) I'd pay for both, but I'm trying to figure out the emotional/avocational bond twixt the two, and I'm *not* thinking of the 'style' of either: I'm thinking of the Music only. How's Manson and his band in concert? I'd love for fans of both bands to find common cause to rip it up and have a good time together!
..edit: I'm so there for Slayer, schedule permitting! 'Not sure how this Holly Hobbie will fare in the crowd, but who cares? This sounds like fun!

Call Manson a poser if you will--but he's stood up for more heat than any music artist in recent years. Columbine, anyone? His shit is different, and while I haven't really been impressed with any of his recent work, his first few records carved out their own niche in goth/industrial music. At least he pushes the limits on shit, especially on what's socially acceptable.

While I don't like every song he's done, I like a lot of Manson's work. He puts on a great live show as well. I look forward to seeing him again. He has a lot to say and doesn't give a shit what others think. To me, that's definitely NOT a poser! Although I wasn't a huge Slayer fan before seeing them live recently, I'm really looking forward to seeing them again as well. I love being able to feel the energy of a crowd at a show and they definitely deliver. LOL Gretchen: "Holly Hobbie"? *trying to picture you in a sunbonnet* Seriously though, it really gets the adrenalin going, but you will do just fine! I only wish we lived closer so we could hit up a show together one of these days

HAHAHAHA. Wow. I wish I heard about that earlier. ahh I like about 2 songs by Manson and 0 by Slayer. I don't see any real connection for these two to tour though. Their totally different styles of music.

To me, 'poser' is someone that does it for the money, and has no real substance. Every artist is an attention whore in some way. Korn are attention whores too, just in a different way than Manson. So are Mudvayne, and Madonna. It's what they do. I don't think Manson made any of his work easier for the public to swallow, I think that his popularity became more widespread and generally acceptable, and what is wrong with that? It's not like he made his onstage performances or music vids any less weird to conform to the desires of the masses.
