(K)now F(orever): I have always found this song confusing so if anyone with input could help me out here, that would be great. The only thing that I can think of is something about law/government/etc. Hi there all. This is my first post on the forums, I've been a fan of MuDvAyNe for quite some years now and have recently been listening to L.D. 50 again and delving into the lyrics somewhat. I've quoted Stallan here because I feel I have figured out the meaning behind K(now) F(orever). First of all, knowing the exact definition of each and every word in the song is very important because it gives you the knowledge and also the ability to then interpret these words in the way Chad may have wanted them to be. These are my own preliminary interpretations based on research into L.D. 50, serotonin and the stoned ape theory which the majority of the album is themed around. A Summary: It acts as a reminder for people that we are sentient beings with thoughts and emotions, just because you aren't part of the masses doesn't mean you need charity, help, or in fact, have to change into the masses. Now for the over-analytical interpretation. The First Verse: Nothing changes, they are telling us things we will come to figure out on our own (or already know subconsciously/consciously). Our general mood, diet and awareness aren't much developed by our environment but that of the chemical balance within our brain which varies from human to human. We don't want to be protected from the truth like a helpless little kitten, we are sentient, self-thinking humans. Inspiration is just another way to control us and dictate what we do, and as if a badly programmed A.I., will crash and burn eventually. The Second Verse: When you're different, you know you are; and then Chad sarcastically apologises for tainting their ignorant and closed minded view of their perfect, brain washed world for being different and individualistic. Spoon-fed reflections is difficult to describe but I guess seeing your own reflection and the same environment desensitises you to it and as a result over-sensitises you to other environments (bring on the closed mindedness again) and then again about how his image is disgusting to the people. The last bit here about chewing off the person's hand if they try to reach out to lend to him seemed pretty obvious to me; we are all humans, all (again) sentient beings, charity isn't needed and it's in fact a fucking insult when you get a stupid ignorant, supposed 'compassionate' person extending their help to you as if you're a bankrupt, no life tramp. The Third Verse: Very simple, he isn't asking other people to change, so what the hell gives them to right to ask him to change? He's comfortable in his own life and how he appears and makes it apparent we are all different and thus, will never lose that feeling of loneliness because there's no one quite like you. That's all for now, must go play D.O.T.A. and induce chemical releases within the brain. Ant

That's a good interpretation.

Hey,
can someone tell me what the expression "there's no choice in freedom" from the song choices means, because I don't really get it.
Thanks.

It's how when you live in a democracy, you think that the people decide everything, when they actually don't. Same with rights. You're told you have the right to do something, until you do it, and someone finds it offensive, or against their way of thinking.

Well no ones posted here for a while so I thought I might.
This is kind of about song meanings but I have a quesiton about TEOATTC. Every song on the album is linked to star signs and I found it interesting that I am a Cancer and that my favourite song from the album is World So Cold, which is linked to the Cancer star sign.
So is anyone elses most favourite song from TEOATTC linked with their star sign?

Mine is. I'm a Gemini, and my favorite song is Shadow of a Man.

Not really sure if this belongs here in this thread but is about album meanings, so I thought it would be appropriate.
I had a thought the other day about the ideas behind all there albums. Here's what i came up with....
L.D 50 was the album to introduce something foreign into everyday life. kinda like introducing drugs or foreign substances into your body. That's what happens when you listened to it for the first time, you didn't really know how to react because your mind was blown at the sheer intelligence of every song and it's lyrics. It was them being these weird F'ed up things and disrupting the natural order. If you ever read their "Mission Statement" on the L.D 50 site when it was up, it expained that they were aliens from Zeta Reticuli here to take over using a collection of what they called "Zeta Waltzes" to control the human population and breed us with their species in secret. L.D 50 certaintly did that, making all of us fans.
The End of All Things to Come was about them as these aliens observing us as a species and reflecting on it and exposing truth behind our lies, emotions, and what not. Its purpose was to show us how to think for ourselves and see through a lot of different things by utilizing the different philosophies presented in the music.
Lost and Found was them being normal, stripped-down humans with human emotions. Relating to us and feeling the things we do. I personally believe the reason L & F was so radio-friendly and pop sounding was because that was them trying to fit in with us and just be one of us. just a normal human. no double meanings, no analogies, no outrageous sounds, just simple and easy to listen to and straight forward.
With The New Game, it was them taking on different personalities again. They're still normal but they're just not themselves. They were introducing new elements in their arsenal. They were looking at things in their life from a different point of view and discovering things were hidden. now, they're showing those things from the perspective of someone else.
Even though it may not seem like it, all these albums were almost concept albums for their evolution. Not just musically, but emotionally and mentally as well and they just want us fans not to be so disconnected with what they're feeling.
I know that was a bit long but I felt I needed to share with all my fellow MuDvAyNe fans Any comments or anything you guys felt I might have missed? Long Live Zeta!!!
