I wouldn't dare to compare these two logos.
The Mudvayne's one looks like a logo on a top secret documents.

it might have something to do with the storyline of the game.

Those twats at thisismudvayne.com posted that. I agree with Matt about the secret document thing, this cover is giving me a freemason vibe so I'm thinking the game has something to do with american freemasons committing murders

Have you seen 'From Hell' starring Johnny Depp? It's a good movie with a freemason theme.

When I first saw it, the star reminded me of Dimmu Borgir's logo

When I first saw it, the star reminded me of Dimmu Borgir's logo Yeah but their's is inverted :-P. It's a pretty standard looking pentacle, you could tie it to a lot of different religions/philosophies. Yeah I've seen From Hell, what a weird movie! And of course that translates to: I loved it!

I don't care what it really means, I think it looks sweet. Hopefully a black shirt with that logo on the front comes out.

Er... That looks pretty satanic to me LOL. And that IS a normal pentagram in the new logo. Satanists use the inverted pentagram to attract evil energy and spirits, witches and the like use it to cast off evil. It looks a helluva a lot more like the iron eagle(nazi symbol posted above) then anything america has used, at least of what I can find, but since they're using a pentagram that is commonly associated with witchcraft or freemasonry, things which nazis were against, and the olive branches included to represent peace I'm kinda curious what the message is.... And I think you should care what a symbol means before you go around wearing it, it could stand for something completely different then what you think and therefore could be something you're strongly against, though I have faith in mudvayne that this new logo isn't trying to portray nazism in a good light or if it was even intended for that link to be made in the first place. Hopefully after listening to the album and looking at the rest of the album art it'll be made clear

Mudvayne isn't like that. I HIGHLY donubt its related to nazis...its more related to a bald eagle that a nazi...

Since I'm a Pagan or a Wiccan at heart, must have been in a past life or two.....From the wiki: A pentagram (sometimes known as a pentalpha or pentangle or, more formally, as a star pentagon) is the shape of a five-pointed star drawn with five straight strokes. The word pentagram comes from the Greek word πεντάγραμμον (pentagrammon), a noun form of πεντάγραμμος (pentagrammos) or πεντέγραμμος (pentegrammos), a word meaning roughly "five-lined" or "five lines". Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus,[1][2] and it also has associations within Freemasonry. The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman word lucifer, which was a term used for Venus as the Morning Star, associated with the bringer of light and knowledge. It is most likely to have originated from the observations of prehistoric astronomers.[3] When viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the zodiac every eight years.[4] A pentacle (or pantacle in Thelema[1]) is an amulet used in magical evocation, generally made of parchment, paper or metal (although it can be of other materials), on which the symbol of a spirit or energy being evoked is drawn. It is often worn around the neck, or placed within the triangle of evocation. Protective symbols may also be included (sometimes on the reverse), a common one being the five-point form of the Seal of Solomon, called a pentacle of Solomon or pentangle of Solomon.[2] Many varieties of pentacle can be found in the grimoires of Solomonic magic; they are also used in some neopagan magical traditions, such as Wicca, alongside other magical tools. The relationship between the words pentacle and pentagram (a five-point unicursal star) is unclear. The Oxford English Dictionary (Second Edition) treats the two as apparently synonymous, but notes that the actual history of pentacle is obscure. In an extended use, many magical authors treat them as distinct. In many tarot decks and in some forms of modern witchcraft, pentacles often prominently incorporate a pentagram in their design.
