Sorry I haven't been posting all that much lately guys. I'm going through an extended self-absorption phase right now, what with living with my boyfriend and getting a new puppy and all that shit. It's hard to take an interest in other people, but that doesn't mean I'm being a bitch. If you know me you know better than that anyway, lol. I've also fallen out of the habit of posting random thoughts on threads, unless I actually contribute something to the convo. It's like giving compliments--I have a really hard time generating any enthusiasm if I don't truly feel that way. Not socially polite I guess, but oh well! I still check in and read the new posts, though.
I'm sure I'll get back into being more involved once Chad gets over this fucking Hell Yeah thing and starts putting all of his manic energy back into Mudvayne. I'm so jaded with them right now, I don't even want to listen to them! I'm going through a retro alternative phase as well. Old Foo Fighters and Stone Temple Pilots anyone? Alice and Chains? lol
Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhh, they've come to snuff the rooosterrrrrrAHYEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

<retro alternative?> hands over "Bleach" with no timetable for a return, either! It's all good. <subliminal message: Temple of the Dog> Wait....if you promise to give me my Sub Pop demos back sometime...Good stuff, Andrew & Co. had, 'ere he inavertadly offed himself. Good Music has no shelf or half-life! I'm kind of being a jerk right now, at this hour. Kim, you've posted the words out of my thoughts. Of sorts. You're a Mod, and deservedy so, so I always look for your posts, Kathy and Ginelly's posts, and, of course, Khris' posts. But the prolonged absence of Mudvayne-a-whole is a crime. I don't understand it in practical terms...includng contracts, promotion-cycles, record company timetables, etc. I don't believe they have no new, good, true material to offer of themselves. <grumbles>

That's understandable Kim, I think we all go through that at some point. Just too much going on at once. I'm on several other forums and there are times I don't go on them for a week at a time. Sucks on the really active ones because when I do go back to them there are convos I would have liked to get in on, but they've already run their course. LOL at least you don't have to worry about that on this forum...until Mud gets their shit together and we have more people posting regularly. Enjoy your "new" life but don't forget to pop in now & then & let us know how you're doing.
That being said-a word of thanks to those of you who are keeping us running during Mudvayne's downtime. Lets just hope these two years without them is worth it. I'm sure I won't be the only one who's pissed if they come out with a "St. Anger" after all of this wait!

Mudvayne could make St. Anger sound good. Seriously though, I came to the conclusion the other day that if they don't release a double album or at least a record with more than 12 songs I am going to be disappointed.

lol @ Veronica What about The Colour and the Shape? Everlong has to be one of my favorite songs of all time by them, besides "This Is A Call" and "I'll Stick Around". It blew my mind that Dave could sing so good and was able to have his own career after Nirvana. When I first heard "I'll Stick Around", I thought, "What the fuck? Is that Dave Grohl? The drummer from Nirvana?? Holy shit!" I started losing interest after their 3rd album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose came out. That was the last of the good 'ol Foos for me. Since then, Dave's gotten married and had a daughter, and his life is just peachy. Truly good music only happens when the songwriter's life sucks or they're going through some hard times. Dave's life certainly doesn't suck anymore! lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H0BMfqFP9c

I really can't imagine them ever making shitty music. Truly good music only happens when the songwriter's life sucks or they're going through some hard times. would it be selfish to say I hope Mudvayne's life sucks now? j/k of course!

lol @ Veronica What about The Colour and the Shape? Everlong has to be one of my favorite songs of all time by them Yeah that's an awesome cd as well. Perhaps it's the best from them. And Everlong is one of my all time favorite songs, especially because of the lyrics. I still recommend "In Your Honor"...Oh Come on, don't you like at least one song from it...? lol Listen to "The Deepest Blues Are Black" Man, that song's so amazing!

I shall render them unto her at once my queen! lol Just kidding, she's sleeping in her crate downstairs and I'm getting ready to hit the hay. Her and I had a nice jog through the neighborhood after work today, and my legs are fucking killing me from running in flip flops. I would've been better off going barefoot!
To Kathy: Yes, I hope they are suffering, just as they are making us suffer! Dammit! lol
To Veronica: No, I seriously have not listened to their "In Your Honor" album...but I'll look up "The Deepest Blues Are Black" song and give it a listen. Btw, Dave was going through a divorce from his first wife when he wrote "Everlong", if that helps give more meaning to the lyrics. It's one of those songs he says he hates to sing sometimes, because it just opens up old hurts every time.
