They have potential to make it as a real band, but so far, I haven't been particularly impressed with the quality of their tracks. The mixing just doesn't sound good, and the sound is just shitty. If they could get the team that produces for Mudvayne, Hell Yeah's album would really kick ass. But you're right, Matt, it's just a fun band, nothing to go head over heels for!

i like what i've heard so far. nowhere near as much as i like mudvayne, but matter of time is a really cool song. it seems that, as people have said, this is more of a fun side project and mudvayne is the real deal for chad and greg, and i'm happy about that.

Chad and Greg have done their part to make a lot of us happy (in Mudvayne) now its their turn to have some fun....its only fair, I suppose!

Hellyeah's pretty sweet. But i dont listen to it like when i get a Mudvayne album. You Wouldnt Know, Matter Of Time, and Thank You get the most plays.

I love HellYeah pretty much because Pantera and Mudvayne are my favourite bands in the world and now 3 of them are in one band so this made me extremely happy. For sure i could listen to the HellYeah album over and over (then maybe to even it out all 5 of the mudvayne discs) But i think this is only the start of something great in HellYeah.

LOL I really love HellYeah, they have a good time and they're really fun to see live, it's nice listening to people just rocking out without being overly serious. There's a humor there and a lot of people are missing out on it.
I prefer Mudvayne over HellYeah but it's kinda hard to say who's better because they have such different flavors. And Vinnie mixed the CD I believe, it was all done in his studio so it would have the raw sound to it. I dig it, it's fun, you just shouldn't think about it to much, just have a good time :-P

I liked the first song they put out and I thought they had some promise...then I saw the video and it just reminded me of a Kid Rock concert. :/ I've only heard a few other songs and I reeeaaally didn't like them. Just not my deal. I can't get past the lyrics, they're so...uninspired. For those of you who like them, don't shoot me!

I don't mind their music, but I wouldn't buy any of their stuff. I respect them because a) Vinnie Paul is making music again and b) Mudvayne is intense and you can tell Chad and Greg wanted a break for a while. The redneck image though seems pretty forced. Everyone wearing cowboy hats, and chaps and all that, meanwhile as far as I know, Vinnie Paul is the only one from the south.

HellYeah is ok to see live, but I have a hard time listening to the cd. I think I just miss Mudvayne so much - the great lyrics especially.....and can't get past the feeling that it's HY's "fault" Mudvayne has been delayed over and over again.
