I hope you're feeling better! I remember 'smoke-ins' in DC, when I lived there after graduating. Beautifully fragrant, and a welcoming vibe everywhere! <pictures a lone celebrant marching around town with spliff tucked behind one ear, bong-baton in hand, like this Life Magazine photo: ... that I can't find anywhere. Well, it's a photo of a male Majorette in full dress, marching across a lawn, ecstatically (sp?) with (kids in tow) Sorry. I don't picture you with grammar school-aged kids marching behind you, but the photo is awesome. It's by Alfred Eisenstaedt, made for Life, in the '40's.

Ok, personally Megan, I would have set the dinner table (without being asked to, of course ) to Planet Caravan...then worked up to the harder stuff....maybe cleared the table with my buddies to Walk (yes, I know: typical Pantera, but you're trying to expose your parents to some good stuff, right? Accessible might be the key...) ...or, what about this: your Da liKes Phil Collins? Give it to him! "Keep it Dark" has a good, driving beat, and is kind of icky-weird to boot (esp. when you go all English-major on the lyrics at a 'certain age' !) It's pretty cool what you're doing, if you really mean to introduce your dad to your kind of music if he's really not familiar with it. My folks introduced me to their music from the start, and got me interested in Metal inadvertantly, via Johnny Winter, then became *extremely* interested in what I holed up with in my bedroom as I hit my teens! How they could be Ok with Maiden and not with Dio-era Sabbath is a total mystery to me (unless they both harboured a secret preference to Ozzy over Dio ) At 9, I introduced them to Kiss, and at 10, I went to my first concert (Kiss, '76, New Haven, CT) ushered by both folks. It wasn't the last concert we attended together, but it was the last truly "Rock" concert we witnessed together! Anyway--persevere, but try not to needle too unnecessarily! \end of lec.

Bahaha now that is a lesson i would go to school for.
Nah not trying to get him into it he just thinks his is amazing and mine has no talent. Dinner was alot like Cemetery Gates, This Love and The Medicine Man hahaha. Then cleaning up with Mouth For War, Fucking Hostile and Walk. Then when it was all over it was 5 Minutes Alone haha. Its quite funny though, Dad with no musical talent or know how......ahh it makes for good times.

Heroes Season 3 premiere was quite kickass and rekindled my liking of that show (although I have lost some respect for it) after the semi-dissapointing season 2. I like how they are getting more metaphorical this season.
