Hello. I somehow always knew that that eagle on the cover of The New Game looked familiar to me. But i until today was not very eager to find out more about it. So, i invested about half an hour of research with google pictures for that matter. And the fact i have come up with is: The eagle and the circle (with a pentagram inside) resembles the state emblem of the Nazi government of Norway almost 1:1. If you don't believe me, here are the pictures: Official The New Game Album Cover Emblem of the Nazi Party of Norway (Nasjonal Samling) 1933-1945 As you may notice, i have signed up exclusively to discuss this topic here in the forums. I knew, that the drummer Matthew McDonough has some association with the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. What would you guys here suggest to think about my finding? So to speak "What were the artist's intentions?"Any reasonable interpretations are welcome. Thanks in advance. (Legal Note: My intention here is not to promote symbols or the ideology of National Socialism, the above posted pictures only fulfill documentary purposes.)

The star has something to do with The Scarlett Letter (hence why it's pointing up, and not down like most metal bands do with the pentagram). I think it was a clue as to who the killer in the game was.

Ok, that sounds like an acceptable interpretation. But somehow i got a problem with the scarlet letter (sorry, i am not from america, but wikipedia suggests that there is a slang term "scarlet letter" in america defined as follows): "The punishment of the scarlet letter is a mark that would (1) last forever, (2) expose everyone to the knowledge of a person's past indiscretions, or crimes, and (3) greatly and inherently increase the severity of punishment by never permitting the individual to escape from the crimes of their past. By withholding the ability of a person to distance themselves from their past, the "scarlet letter" denies the person the ability to rehabilitate and recover from the mistakes of their past."
So far, so good. But why is it on the mudvayne cover? Does it mean that mudvayne condems fascism or does it mean that mudvayne has done some things wrong in the past?
Any alternative views?

I think you're taking the meaning of the album cover waaaay to seriously.

Yeah... Maybe i am a bit old-fashioned to think that every product of a creative process has a meaning to it.

It's not always that deep. Music is for enjoyment and I'm deeply disappointed Mudvayne will not be touring to support this album.
