Hi everyone! I'll be gone for a few days. I'm lucky enough to be going to Washington DC with my daughter. A small group from her school is going.
I've never been to DC and to go during the inauguration is just amazing. Not to get political here, but I did work for the Obama campaign, so seeing the results of all our hard work will be awesome.
A full report and pics at the end of the week!

That's awesome! I've never been to DC either. Have a lot of fun and take loads of pictures! Even if you're not an Obama supporter, I think it would be a pretty phenomenal thing to see and be a part of.

That's exciting, Shroomfairy! Have fun, keep warm, and enjoy DC and all the company you'll be in! I lived in DC (Vermont Circle) and the VA/MD area for almost 4 years in the early 90's. Traffic completely bites, but there is almost too much to see and do there, and I've never lived in a place with so much music of all kinds available live; on radio; and via shops. Musical Heaven! Anyway, stay safe, and make a ton of photographs, will you?!

Glad you had a good time Shroom! Seems like this was the first inauguration that people actually gave a shit about. It must have been so awesome to be there and witness it first hand. Our entire school watched it....haha I looked for you in the crowd

It was an amazing trip! I want to go back to DC when it is warm and not so crowded. We didn't get into any museums, but saw a lot of monuments. Even with the crowds, everyone was nice. Here are a few pics! Arlington National Cemetery The Capital on Inauguration Day
