somethin' like a plastic sheet or saran wrap, you need to have it on you tattoo for about 3-4 days, atleast that's what they put on the tattoo here.

Interesting. I guess that's a good way to keep it from getting wet. They just stress lotion in the States

Just stress lotion? It's much better to have the saran wrap, i think it protects from scratches and things like that too

The lotion keeps it from drying out. Getting it wet will cause it to scab.

seems like every tattoo shop I've been to has different instructions for after-care. One of them said to wash it at least 10 times a day and use just a tiny bit of lotion. Another said to put ice on it an hour after getting it done and then cover with lotion & plastic wrap at night...but most said pretty much keep it clean, no swimming or baths (showers were ok, of course) and apply lotion or a cream that they recommend on it. ALL said keep it out of the sun. I haven't really seen any difference in the healing process of any of mine, but I do think the plastic wrap is a good idea, especially at night.
