When L & F had just came out, and they did their 1st tour for it (HOB at our show) they did something where the 1st 100 people who bought their album that day get a meet and greet pass. It was an exciting last minute surprise for those of us waiting in line for the show. And that alone sold out- people who already had bought the cd prior to the show re-brought it for a meet and greet pass.
Whatever it is they are pulling now is just bullshit! I refuse to buy a cd to be able to buy a ticket for a show (ONLY band I would do that for is Stone Sour- who are my favoriite band) Besides, unfortunately I'm not a big fan of Dull Boy or Fish out of water. They're ok, but just don't really impress me. So, judging by that I'm questioning whether this cd will even be worth buying. Haven't Mudvayne thought about what if you buy a cd and you don't even like it?!?!? Yes, guys it happens, as much as a fan one might be. Or is this show only allowed for the "real fans" who, no matter what will buy their album cause they love them that much. The thing is, for a long time Mudvayne was my favorite band, I loved them for years, but it seems like they've been steadily downfalling since they left. And seriously, this is not the best way to make a come back
I am excited for their return, I do miss them. And I will continue support them live, I will buy tickets to their show for every time they come here. But I just cannot just buy their album without knowing I'm gonna like it 1st- and this is not the way I want to buy a ticket to their show.
I'll keep checking back with the HOB for ticket sales. The lady in box office didn't even know if the tickets will even go onsale regular to the public. She said it was totally up to them (I'm assuming she means the band). She even felt like the whole thing was rediculous.

Maybe that's the whole point though--they may need the sales and figure this would be a great money-maker. Fucking retarded is what it is! Hopefully regular no-strings-attached tix will be available soon, within a couple of weeks.

I got my ticket without any problems (although it was like $45, originally $29!) but I feel your pain. The whole thing was not set up in a way to favor the fans, but just make us pay more money. I want to believe that Mudvayne and management meant well, but who knows.
I waiting for the tickets to go on general sale (11/29) to buy more but if the album is really the ticket I don't know if I willing to buy duplicate albums.

Sheesh i feel alot of losing faith goin on. I'm wondering about the faith issue myself....not the fans, but the band. Did they have enough faith that this album would have sold well enough on it's own merit rather than as part of the ticket deal? I wasn't a big fan of Dull Boy, I can't stand the beginning of Fish Out Of Water (though I like the rest of it), I've only listened to BTPFTP a handful of times. So even though I'll always be a fan of Mudvayne, it doesn't mean everything they do is going to wow me. I'm not going to kiss their ass and praise songs that I don't care for just because I like the band! Based on that...no, I probably wouldn't have bought this cd without first hearing more of it if not for the ticket thing. And actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize that it's not even the money issue that's bugging me...it's the principle of it "you can't come to the concert unless you buy our album" Fuck that! Other bands, such as Trivium, All That Remains & Slipknot have played shows before their albums were released and let the audiences judge for themselves if they want to buy it. All that being said, who knows if the band even considered any of this anyway? It could be that they were just trying to ensure that only true fans would get concert tickets (but "forgot" that sometimes 2 fans are married to each other and don't need 2 fucking cds!). I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the ticket buying rules get changed so that all of the fans who have been faithfully waiting 2 1/2 years to see them will be able to go!

No offense, but I think some aren't "counting their blessings". Mudvayne isn't hitting up Canada, Poland, Australia (+ wherever else members on this board come from) and some of us can't pre-order the album. If I were in the States and had access to this thing, I would buy regardless. Not only cause Mudvayne have almost never let me down (not playing Small Silhouette live and the original song Forget to Remember itself are the only times they have disappointed me), but because they are the underdogs in my opinion (hey, they said it themselves "[they] are always five minutes late"]. They haven't gotten all the success they deserve. Don't get me wrong, I think this promotional idea is very flawed, and I can sympathize. I think they are just giving back to the fans firstly with the Album is the Ticket thing, then they will release tickets to the general public. It would be stupid not too, the label would know this. Although I may be a bit biased, cause I think Dull Boy and Fish out of Water are both fucking great songs.

Guess we'll know in time guys. I'll give them benefit of a doubt and hope they will allow those tickets to go on-sale for the general public.
But, like I said, I won't buy a cd in order to get tickets. I don't think it makes me any less of a fan, I just don't think it's right. The fans should be able to choose whether they want the cd or not. I really want to buy those tickets, but I really don't want to get the cd just yet til I know it's worth buying- end of story. As much as I like Mudvayne, I won't give in to buying the cd just to get concert tickets

And I'm lucky I got my ticket, just wish it was done differently. I hope they release the tickets to the general public soon. As for them hitting Canada, Poland, Australia and other countries-I'm sure that's coming and you'll all get your chance to see them soon. (or maybe you can catch them while you're on tour in the States stallan!) I expect them to tour the hell out of this album to make up for lost time ;D Machine Head has already been announced for Wacken next year....maybe Mudvayne will be next?

To Ginelly, you make good points, cool to see people stand by their principles in this warped world of ours. And to Kathy, apparently 101 Productions ( I think thats the name) gave my guitarist a schedule, so maybe I'll get to see Mudvayne in the States. That would be pure epicness.

people people, please, leys not dog em', the tickets are available, just got mine through ticketmaster for like 30 bucks. 2 things, 1. they can't plan to sell out every show with pre orders. 2. what about the people who came for snot and 10 years? they wouldn't make them use mudvaynes promotion to get people to see them, we can all rest easy that it will be available through regular promoters.

I really love the new songs, and even if I didn't I have faith in them to write better albums in the future, I spend more money on starbucks then I do on them, and that I think is fucked up LMAO. I also really want to play the game XD
BUT I can't buy tickets with my code, it keeps telling me that 'there are no more tickets available through this promotion'. I emailed the ticket info whatever and they haven't got back to me, I don't care about the money I just want my fucking tickets! ;-;
