I have a huge love for Mudvayne. They inspired me to play bass and to want to become a professional musician. They also have a "quality control" about them that is very inspirational. They are deep and they think things through. I want to pay tribute by getting a tattoo that relates to them. At first I was thinking of getting the triangle with encircling fire with the scientific symbol for weed or mushrooms underneath the triangle and the 12 zodiac signs from TEOATTC around the fire. 6 on the top outer rim and 6 on the bottom outer rim. If I get this one in would more than likely be on my calf. My other idea was that I should have the zodiac signs on my forearm going by 2s, then with the triangle in the centre, then the rest of the signs going by 2. 1 2 3 4 5 6 triangle 7 8 9 10 11 12 Thats all I got so far. Any suggestions would be killer.

I like your idea of the triangle, fire and zodiac signs. Of course it depends on where you get it if you'll have enough space to do it justice. I love that you're getting it for the right reasons...that Mudvayne has deeper meanings to you than just "liking" the band. I feel the same way about mine. Also make sure you do lots of research on artists before getting your tattoo. Recommendations from friends are the best. Any artist can show you a portfolio, but seeing their tattoos on actual people is the real test. LOL that triangle is trickier than it looks to get it straight! (trust me, I know )

both ideas sound pretty cool man. I really like the forearm one. I think if i ever get a tat its gonna be running down my forearm. Just gotta find the right idea. ....and what's the scientific symbol for weed? I've never heard of that.

On the back cover of LD50 it shows the scientific symbol for weed (tetrahydracannibol), LSD, mushrooms, and something that I've never heard of. Also what I discovered just yesterday is that in the bottom corner of the bottle with the track listing they show the symbol for mushrooms.

I never knew that...now I have to search for one of my LD50 cases (I've purchased 3 or 4 of them...) I do remember that if you look on the inside of the back label there's a small LD50 pill.

I came up with the idea that I'm more than likely to go with (on my inner forearm). A bass clef at the wrist and the triangle at the end of the forearm, with those molecule plastic model things (as seen on the front cover of LD50) connecting them.

My parents are freaking out about it, which I find funny. Reinforces the notion that too many people are stuck in the past as regards to tattoos. They keep saying employers frown upon tattoos, but to me that isn't a good argument. In this day and age of political correctness and so on, discriminating against someone for having a tattoo is pretty much the same as discriminating against sexual preference, beliefs, etc.

Since one quarter of the adult population (in the US anyway) is tattooed, discriminating against us would be a major issue! I can't think of too many jobs nowadays where I haven't seen a tattooed person....at least not the kind of job that you're likely to want anyway

I've always worried about that too, but I haven't had problems so far. I guess as long as it's not offensive (like "fuck" tattooed to your knuckles, or a swastika) there shouldn't be a problem.

We have folks tatooed from head to toe here at the very large, very corporate (very worldwide) higher ed publishing company I work at--and these folks are Visible! (my co. is a small imprint, but with visiblity across the imprints and companies.) I bring that up only to illustrate that Ink is I believe, thankfully, not viewed as something a "deviant" or rebellioius individual "does" to themselves..the art I see is obviously very carefully, thoughtfully chosen and lovingly placed and for the most art, masterfuly executed---I love tats and make a nuisance out of myself checking folks' art out--and I have yet to see cuss words anywhere!
And NICE choice, stallan--please, photos! And if you're a Gemini: bonus! Our forearms are supposed to be a bodypart of Power!

Not yet, I don't have a driver's license, and you can only book in person (which is fucking gay I may add), so I would have to get one of my buddies to make two trips up there. Weekends are walk in, but that means they are busy as fuck. I have the money and design though, so any day now.
