Poetry Thread?/ "Lost In Thought"

I was thinking, could a poetry thread be added to the board? I mean a thread where other threads can be added, instead a ist of replies. Im not exactly what the term is, if any really. That's why I described it. I can't remember if I mentioned it in my intro. But, I also write lyrics and poetry. I don't know how many here consider themselves poets and/or lyricits. But, frankly I think anyone can, you just have to look inside of yourself for the inspiration or an outside source. But, point is, the poetry/lyrics can be about anything. I like reading poetry.

With that said...

I wanna post something I wrote not too long ago.

It's sorta of Mudvayne inspired and taken from outside source.

"Lost In Thought"

"Behold the beauty of God's creation,
Destroyed with the swing of a mighty axe.
Trapped in nature's cycle,
We live to die.
Sucking on exhaust as we pass the toast.

What's wrong with the picture?
What happend to this society?
Brother VS. Brother
Father against Son
Mother against Daughter.

The greed overwhelming society
So much hatred
So much blood
Glorified on the propaganda mainstream

No more peace,
No more indian summers,
No more colorful splender,
All is black and white.

We are the reason for our own destruction.
We are the solution to our problems.
Neogations, rationally, and mediation is no longer in our vocabulary.

Can't you feel the war divided unity?
No more love.
No more compassion.
No more compassion.

Don't take offense to my words,
It's my views,
The views of an observer,
Who is lost in thought.

I too was thinking of a thread like this for poetry and lyrics and stuff. Maybe in the next couple days I will post some of my songs. Good poem as well, something I can relate to.

Nice work heriticalmudvanin! Reminds me a bit of Elegy from Machine Head. ;D one of my favorite songs of theirs.


We'll add poetry/lyrics section to our list for when we re-vamp the site. Mudvayne's music tends to be very inspiring, making us want to express ourselves through poetry as well....
