I love this band, they are true legends of Heavy/thrash metal. I like most of their albums and my fav ones are Master of puppets, And justice for all, Ride the lightning, Garage Inc., and S&M. Metallica still rules

Metallica? I like the old stuff... im not interested in new metallica. They are already legends, a band that is and should be respected.

Hopefully this thread doesn't become like the Metallica thread on ultimate-guitar.com. The only things disscussed there are how much everything after Black Album sucks, Kirk vs. Mustaine, favourite albums and how people are anticipating the new CD. Whats worse is there is about 30 pages of that. I guess it was 20 years ago this September that Cliff died, so RIP. One of the best bass players in metal.

so many places are just saying stuff like james is a bad singer, lars is gay, dave is better than kirk, st anger was one of the worst albums ever recorded, metallica isnt metal...stuff like that. it gets old. st anger wasnt very good but there are at least a couple songs i liked. to say that they have done nothing good since black album...id disagree. reload has a couple songs i like, same with st anger, and they still do the old ones live. i think metallica have earned the right to do what they want.

Like them or not, they have earned their place in metal history. I'm not a big fan of St. Anger, but I respect their right to make music the way they're feeling it at the time. I like songs off of every album, including St. Anger. And there's no denying they still totally kick ass in concert! If you're interested in some great older interviews with Cliff, James and Jason check out: www.myspace.com/kenzpage

The interviews are cool. I especially enjoyed the one of Jason Newsted, I think he's a talented musician. It's a shame that he's no longer a member of Metallica.
