They should still have some tickets available! It's great that you were going with your dad ;D I go with my daughter every year, and sometimes my husband too. When I was younger, if a parent went with you to a concert it was because they didnt trust you or something, now when parents go its usually because they both enjoy the music. I love seeing families at concerts (well, not little, little kids) that's what I call "quality time" When I went to the Mudvayne gig @jannus Landing last Labor Day weekend, I saw a mom, dad, and their 7-yr-old boy in front but off to the side, and the little boy was having a great time. The dad even had him on his shoulders when Mudvayne was on, but the bouncers made him put him down because it was a little dangerous with the moshers and stuff. I thought that was great.

When I saw them in April of last year @ HOB, there was a little kid, maybe about 2 years old on someones shoulders in the pit flashing his "horns". Made for a cute picture, by holy shit...all it would take was one bump and this kid would have been crushed! They did stay towards the back of the pit, but still-thats a pretty dangerous situation to place your child in! Same thing at Christmas Khaos in Miami....this time right near the front, where I was. Oddly enough, the kid appeared to be sleeping during some of it. But there was a lot of crowd movement, especially during Mudvayne and Korn, so seeing this kid being jostled around like that was a little scary!

I remember that 2 year old mom. My fiance was shocked to see that they let a child that young go in. Not only the crowd, but all the profanity and drinking - a child really shouldn't be allowed in WTF, security ?

back on topic....I have to rant here for a minute! The last date of Ozzfest is this Sunday in West Palm. Ozzy isn't going to be there, even though when I bought my tickets it said hes was. A7X was advertised as the big mystery band, I dont really like them...but whatever. As it turns out, Ozzfest knew all along that A7X had a prior commitment in Japan for that day and yet they did not bother to get a replacement for us. AND now.....Hatebreed (the band I really wanted to see) will not be there either! Hatebreed is understandable~they have a funeral to attend. What is most infuriating is that the Ozzfest.com has chosen to ignore these issues. Today their news was updated, not to let people know these bands wouldn't be there, but to let us know which skank was chosen as Miss Ozzfest! There's going to be a lot of pissed off people there on Sunday who won't know any of this until they get there since the newspapers and tickemaster are still saying A7X & Hatebreed will be there...... ... I feel a little better now!

album base has two CDs. O' God the Aftermath and Kiss the Martyr Bless the Child or something like that. Don't bother~they're not that good.... Ozzfest was disappointing on some counts, the band cancellations and no replacements....no Dimebag exhibit and of course, no Ozzy. But I still had a great time! Second stage fucking ruled, as it does every year as far as I'm concerned. I like the closeness and the energy, even for some of the bands that semi-sucked (like Norma Jean). I got some nice pictures until my camera died, including this one of Trevor from Unearth (Leslie's favorite and mine too ) The day was sooooo hot, they have sprinklers set up and we took full advantage, drenching ourselves several times during the day. First stage...Dragonforce was ok~I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but my daughter is and in her opinion they were awesome. Lacuna Coil was ok too, I really like their music but I still have that mental block of female singers....couldnt help wondering how they would be without her (LOL at least she was listenable, unlike Walls of Jericho who sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard). We managed to each get a signed pick of theirs to add to our collections though. Disturbed was their usual great self. Since it was the last stop of the tour, they came out during Dragonforce and Lacuna Coil to give out drinks and hugs to the bands. Found out later that Dave Draimen had surgery a couple days later, but I didnt notice any problems with his vocal abilities that night. We left before SOAD (why ruin a great day?) anyway....there's more pictures on my MySpace myspace.com/hvymtlmom if you're interested
