Heeey guys, I've been sort of avoiding this place because I didn't want to know the set list before hand. ANYWAY I JUST GOT BACK FROM SEEING THEM. They played the songs that have been mentioned, did they add a little acoustic bit to the end of A New Game at all the shows? Cuz that was awesome. The pit was fucking sick, the band was great but it sounded like Chad had a cold, his speaking voice was really scratchy and he would skip over words every so often (in unusual places, I know in fast songs he tends to skip over words a lot). At the end Matt played a little air guitar for us LOL.
Loved Nonpoint, In This Moment was tolerable(MUCH easier to stomach then Snot) and uh yeah. There was poor communication at the venue about the whole early entry business but that was quickly forgotten once I got in out of the cold.
Met a bunch of awesome people, all in all it was a blast and I can't wait to see them down in Florida!
Though I will say I feel like someone beat the shit out of me, I've never felt this roughed up after a show before LOL. I also saw Cradle Of Filth the night before, so I'm tired as all hell. Oi.

Thanks for the reviews guys! and for posting the pics too. I can't wait to see them again....2 more weeks ;D Kerri, I saw that you got early entry (on thealbumistheticket) and was going to ask how that went. I should be getting it too, but the FL dates haven't been listed yet. I can't imagine how they could possibly be doing it for the March 14 one, since that's now a 2 day festival starting the day before (with 50 bands!), so I'm prepared to work my way up to the front since I'm only going on the date Mud is going to be there. The Tampa one should be easier. Looking forward to seeing you again

I got an email saying to get there at least a half hour early and they let us in through a side entrance. The only problem I had is that most of the people working there weren't told that and the email told us to wait on the will call line, so since no one knew what the fuck we were standing in the cold on that line for a bit until we noticed people with print outs (the email you're supposed to print out to get in) going up to the door and then going around the side. So you know, 2+2=4.
Me too! I'm really excited for the festival date! I think they mentioned on the website where you buy the tickets that there is no early entry for locofest though.

to answer your question on the acoustic ending for a new game, yea they did it in toronto too.The whole early entry thing was that people would go in the same door as us about a half hour before.I was too late to get mine, but luckily i still got in the front at the beginning
and herlecker, glad to hear you had a good time at the show too,my ribs were killing me from the show until yesterday

Dude the pit was SO rough, the thing is when I was in the pit for them with Snot and 10 Years I was wondering if Mudvayne just drew an inexperienced crowd that didn't know what to do in pits, but for Nonpoint everyone acted as I normally expect, for Mudvayne everyone went fucking APE SHIT, so I'm lead to believe no matter what the crowd, if there are Mudvayne fans about expect things to get sick. I love that, I love how rabid everyone is for this band ^_^

Perkele! The show this past Wednesday the 4th could not have been played in a more apropos place, at least so far on this tour! Providence (RI). (Lupo's) Heartbreak Hotel. I do have one beef though: for fuck's sake: it's Winter here, and that's fine. But does a venue have to be so cold that breezes force the balcony folk to fetch their coats as they shiver (I shivered, remaining to be in a new blouse....so Metal: NOT!I feel lucky to be a Mudvayne fan, and am ashamed I didn't say "fuck it" about the lack of hotels, rental cars, and Winterfussy weather this past December: I'd tickets to the Worcester show, but didn't go. So witnessing this show, on this again-most-bone-chilling of nights has my heart aching. What a show. Better then church at times (I worship in the Green Room with the Roof of Stars.) Herkeler and mudfan16 have the right of it, as far as the passion felt during the whole show, though I have a different assessment of ITM and Nonpoint. MUdvayne's setlist didn't vary from the first one posted here.....I think. I could swear that something else was played right after -1 and before Death Blooms (which got us all moving our asses up in the mezzanine). A New Game was played, with a different rhythm (yay!) and not an acoustic ending (again, yay!) that I remember. Cradle was orgasmic. Determined was made to be played live: it's a total crime to commit this song to pixel/tape/etc. Nothing to Gein brought me to tears~~I'm sure I was not the only one~~; Dig made me want to jump the balcony rail and join the pit~~that song is so totally Matt's...and now belongs too to the gal with the multi-braids and black sports bra who kept tearing shit up in the "central area" pit time and again after she'd been surfed to and over the barriers. I've never seen someone have so much concentrated fun at at a show besides my Korn-loving Baby Bro. However, the guy in the Pith Helmet who pogo'd through Nonpoint and most of Mudvayne gets a beer or soda, on me. I still cannot figure out how he kept that hat on: he was wild! Maybe it was his magic beard. The crowd-surfing didn't begin in earnest until Mudvayne hit the stage (and there was quite some time before MV came on: sound problems onstage? Chad kept fiddling with his in-ears for most of the show...and Nonpoint's guitarist had issues, also, with sound...) Yep, as you see, the Witnesses held a good portion of my attention, and I thank you all. The sound was so fucking fantastic audience-wise at Lupo's that I could concentrate on everyone and everything around me~~even the two guys I sat next to who literally did nothing but converse genially between sets, and quietly paid full attention to MV got mine. So. In This Moment: give that gal some more room on these microstages, and watch out. Give her anymore volume on that mike, and all bets are off. Her recorded efforts do nothing for her: live is where it's at, at least on this night. That band played tight, hot, lovingly, on-tune and spot-on. Together. I was sad to see them walk away. Then again, live is always my measure-stick. Frankly, on this night, ITM blew Nonpoint totally away. Away. Which is a bit of a shame, because those guys have energy and heart to spare, but the differences between Nonpoint and Mudvayne are painfully clear, and I don't mean skillset-wise, though maybe I *should* mean so. Like I wrote Kathy last night, I just don't hear/see/know where their music going, and judging from last evening's performance, neither do the guys. But the Heart of them is huge~~I'd go see them again. Maybe. I'm really new to both bands, so fans of Nonpoint fee free to tell me what I missed in their performance. I'll listen! Now~the pits. They gradually gained form and size until MV took the stage, and then....from the view up top: FUN! Hei, maybe Mudvayne doesn't garner the most brutal or ferocious pits (thank Bridget, god, and Crowley) but honestly, the central floor looked like so much fucking fun that I might even join in...next time. I'd need a buddy, but I'd play along: and therein lies my love for this band and it's fans: the Play seems like it really is for heaven and the future's sake, as Mark Twain would say if he saw these guys. :

Awesome review Gretchen! I'm so glad you were able to make it (finally) to see them! Haha and your description of the audience's reaction from your view above makes me almost ALMOST want to witness it from the sidelines... Good to know Cradle is still a highlight-I know it will be for me (always has been!) and I'm more excited than ever to see them next weekend. But even with your rave review I can't bring myself to appreciate ITM. I think my ears just have an aversion to most female vocals. Maybe after these shows (my 3rd & 4th time seeing ITM) I'll be more tolerable...or not. I think part of it is that I resent having to see a band that doesn't (IMO) fit in with the rest of the lineup. The two previous times I've seen them, they've opened for Megadeth and 5FDP. Yeah, I know...I'm narrow minded when it comes to things like that Kerri-got my early entries for both shows, not sure if I really want to get to the Jupiter one at 9:00am though! Gretchen-it's not too late for you to hop a flight & meet us there....maybe even get in the pit?

LOL Yeah I got that email to and thought of you! Get there bright and early and you can have a spot on the barricade! ROFL
Glad to see you had such a fun time Gretchen! I'm so tempted to witness them from the sidelines, one of these days, maybe on the tour after this I will, there's a youtube video from the show I went to in NYC and they show the floor every so often and it looks so SICK and FUN, it was great being like "OOH there I am, rockin' out" XD.
ITM doesn't have original music to me though, and I know the lead singer is always over emphasized but when it's a chick wearing bright blue and the rest of the band is wearing black like they're hired hands it gets under my skin. And on top of that I was really making and effort to listen to their music and I noticed that the drum patterns were extremely similar in a lot of their songs and there wasn't anything much of interest going on with the rest of them.
But like I said, much easier to sit through then the horrid Snot XD

I went to last night's show and Chad has his hair dyed/cut again. He has a short red mohawk and he wore a red gorilla suit last night.
The show was amazing though. ;D
