The album worries me that Mudvayne may have found themselves on the slippery slope to mainstream, I pray I'm wrong though.

They have already said that the upcoming album is more "old school" Mudvayne. They also mentioned that it has their fastest and slowest song, so there will still be some mellow songs.

If I were to be honest, this album was very dissapointing to me. I understand bands get older and mature most of the time, but this was just a huge dissapointment to me. Hope they go back to their true roots.

Ahem.

There's a LOT I like about this album, but I think it deserves a 7/10 at most. There are really exciting and interesting parts, but most of the time I feel it's lacking and kinda boring, it sounds....dry, but whenever I start to feel like it's getting really dry and boring something really interesting happens. It feels so close to being really good, but it isn't. Sucks.

I want to be able to defend this album, but I just keep wanting the new one, they wrote it after a long needed break and a surge of creativity.

Oi, I just hate listening to it, getting a few songs in and switching to L.D. 50 or EOATTC, it makes me feel like a bad fan, but it's missing something that keeps me from wanting more. Fish Out Of Water I love, The second half of A New Game I can't get enough of, and Dull Boy of course, everything else it seems I only like bits and pieces of.

I like it, it's not my favorite but I still like it. Some days I think it's a 6, some days I'd say 8.

maybe this new album will be so good that it will be known as something - like an entity......you know how people refer to albums like gnr's "appetite for destruction" as just "appetite" or metallica's self titled album "the black album" or "and justice for all" as just "and justice".......

sounds like all the hardcore fans will know the new mudvayne album as "sonic ranch" no matter what the real name of the album is, because we all knew were it was made and it's so amazing.....who knows??

after taking a few weeks off from "the new game" I gave it a listen to the other day and I still like it.....it's not their best, but I like a lot of......i still can't get into "we the people" or "the hate in me" though.....but i really like most of the album......my biggest complaint is that it is so short......i miss all the weird interludes from ld 50 and the longer songs......also, i miss ryan and matt ripping it up

As of today, I would tie this album for first place (with LD50). I can't get enough of it.

i just got it. i fucking love it. i've always been in love with mudvayne. i don't want them to make another LD 50 even though that's one of my favorite albums ever. i kinda like that this album is their most melodic. i wish bands would stop being judged on their current albums rather than their complete catalog.

How can they make LD50 and then produce something as uninspired as this?

Blunt Magazine gave em a 4.
This is not an album for everyone, like Chad and Greg said this is an album for die hard Mudvayne fans.
