in my opinion every song on the album has a little bit of the past albums in them like some parts reminded me of TEOATTC,some of LD 50 and some of L & F.Thats why i really like this album, its very diverse and its very mudvayne to me I'm listening to it now.. the only thing I've listened to since I got it.. And what you said is true for me.. Felt like home, if you know what I mean, in regards to Mudvayne.. Kinda like... same house, same comfy furniture but with some new furniture and rearranged I thought I would hate this album but I think I fell in love with it before I even seen it on the shelf <3

Did you ever listen (and like it) L.D. 50. If you did you know that this is not MUDVAYNE!!! Guitar solo??? If you're gonna base a BAND's creative IDEAS upon just one album, you have got to be the most superficial non-fan type out there (judging by just one post--unfair, isn't it?). I think, judging from my time spent here, it's safe to say, we're fans of Mudvayne, not just whatever music genre they were at the time we first heard them. Have you heard Kill I Oughta? Oops, seeing that LD50 sounds different it CAN'T ever possible be MuDvAyNE!!!!1111oneoneone let alone that TEOATTO sounds different from LD50 and even more different from KIO and L&F sounds different from those.. etc If you've ever watched an interview you HAVE to have heard them say they are evolving. Is the energy there? Yes. Is the struggle with the self and with society there? Yes. Is there an element of insanity? Yes. Is it creative? Yes. Is it experimental? Yup. Hm, well, must be... MuDvAyNe. And personally, I think it's awesome that Greg played around more on guitar (pun unintended).. it shows he's been trying, not getting lazy at it, but improving and experimenting...

I understand that bands have to evolve, but it's unfortunate if they evolve (and they usually do) in a wrong direction (it’s of course up to them to decide in which direction they want to go). It's great that guys from Mudvayne don’t want to repeat themselves, but if this would be my first encounter with Mudvayne I wouldn’t become a fan. Would you??? Is the energy there? Not really. Is the struggle with the self and with society there? Yes. Is there an element of insanity? Not really. Is it creative? NO. Is it experimental? NO. Hm, well, must be... MuDvAyNe-S worst recording. It’s just my opinion no need to get angry ;-)

I'm a long-time fan and thought I would love everything they did no matter which direction it went and that's how its been till now but to be honest, this album just doesn't do it for me. I feel like something is missing....not quite sure what though. You're right, mud 777, if this was the first I'd heard of Mudvayne, I most likely wouldn't check into their other works. In any case, their previous music that I fell in love with will always be there for me. L & F was the soundtrack for a major life change for me, (Per)version Of A Truth still gives me goosebumps each & every time, many of their songs are very meaningful to me (some of them I even have tattooed). I'll always be a fan, I'll always go see them whenever possible but I won't kiss anyone's ass and pretend I like an album when I don't. That's MY opinion, if it pisses anyone off too bad. At least I know there's one person on here that agrees with me LOL

(Per)version Of A Truth is so far beyond anything that is on this album. Do you know if they ever played it live???

I understand that bands have to evolve, but it's unfortunate if they evolve (and they usually do) in a wrong direction (it’s of course up to them to decide in which direction they want to go). I'm not trying to come off as a douche or anything, but your argument is flawed. I know "wrong direction" is from your perspective, but how can it be wrong when it's "up to them to decide in which direction they want to go"? On another note, A Cinderella Story is a damn good song. A close second to A New Game for me.

Put on a poll where people will vote on which Mudvayne album is best and I think that The new game will come in last. Like I said before it’s of course up to them to decide in which direction they want to go. I also think that there are some good songs on the album but none of them are great.

I agree......a cinderella story is an awesome song....
I also agree this would probably come in last in a poll of favorite mudvayne albums.....although it is worth noting that no one has had time to apply these songs to personal experiences or listen to them for any length of time....it's not great but it's still mudvayne

We get someone like this in here about once every couple months and we get all hot and bothered by it.
Well, to me. Mudvayne have proved themselves to me. I hold them very close to my heart and the reason we are all hear is because we love these guys. So much that look how we're sticking up for them. Not in the stupid sense that its "No fuck you Mudvayne are the best you don't know anything" People are putting forth information and facts to prove their point. You all have fair points, i guess thats why we're here.

We get someone like this in here about once every couple months and we get all hot and bothered by it. Nobody should get all "hot and bothered" over a difference of opinion. You may like the cd, someone else doesn't...so what? It's not that big of a deal, really! Just as we are all from diverse backgrounds, different countries, and a wide range of ages, we all have those certain aspects of Mudvayne that we personally appreciate or else we wouldn't be here in the first place. We are all Mudvayne fans (whether we like this new album or not) and should respect each others right to express their opinion even if we don't agree. I hold them very close to my heart and the reason we are all hear is because we love these guys. Not liking this one album doesn't change how I feel about the band and their past works or make me any less of a fan.

(Per)version Of A Truth is so far beyond anything that is on this album. Do you know if they ever played it live??? Unfortunately I've never seen it listed. My guess is if they did play it, it would have been during a 2003 headlining tour....that's when another rarity-Patient Mental-was played
