Definitely! They all bring their own elemet to the table. They have their strengths and weaknesses. And, seriously, none of the singers sound similar. Corey doesn't sound like Chad, Chad doesn't sound like Jeffrey Nothing, etc. I like all three bands a whole lot, personally. I think they're all great. Mudvayne's my fave, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna hate the other two. It's so silly. There's no need to take sides! Besides...

Best Uniforms - Mushroomhead

Mudvayne were my favorite band for a long time (up until I discovered SS) but because that's changed doesn't mean I no longer love Mudvayne. I'm very excited about their return, about seing them this Dec. and about their new album Like you said, they do all bring their own elements. Yeah, I use to be that Mudvayne fan who compared SK and Mudvayne- saying "Mudvayne are awesome and SK sucks." And that was the time I didn't like SK (but then again, my feelings for SK has changed once I discovered SS in 2006) And now that I'm a big fan of both Mud and SK, I now realize how different the 2 are more than ever! |

Yeah, I don't think the three of them sound anything alike! It's like comparing Stone Sour to Slipknot, or Hellyeah to Mudvayne, Nothingface, or Pantera. As a fan I don't WANT my favorite bands to sound like each other for their side projects to sound the same. I can see why some people compare SK and MH (all the mask fight crap) but sound-wise...they don't sound alike! And all bands change over the years. I was listening to old, old Mudvayne the other night and it sort of struck me that Chad's vocals reminded me of old Jonathan Davis/Korn. Chad, like he says on BTPFTP, sings different now then he did back then. I don't know where I'm going with this, just a-ramblin'

I can say "X" band sucks all I want, but lets say "X" band hits #1 and Gold/Platinum albums, wins all kinds of awards and sell out on shows.... OBVIOSLY that band doesn't "suck" It's just the listener, "me" who's saying they "suck" cause I don't like them |

I can say i hate My Chemical Romance til the cows come home but they still get big?
So they must have fans somewhere, just because i don't enjoy their music i won't spoil it for the rest of the population.
Oh gosh, the amount of times i have been thrown into those arguments over Slipknot and Mudvayne. If anyone bring it up, straight away delete or change the subject.
That topic isn't even worth it anymore.

This is a Mudvayne forum, and we are all fans of the band to some degree. But we don't (unless your name is Megan LOL) listen to Mudvayne exclusively 24/7. It's only natural that other bands are brought up as well. Everyone has their favorites and their bands they can't fucking stand. People on here (including us mods) have voiced negative opinions about other bands at one time or another. As long as expressing your opinion doesn't amount to a personal attack such as the "you suck because you listen to _______" like I've seen in other forums, there's no reason to get bent out of shape because someone doesn't like the same band you do!
And yes, some of you have heard the Mudvayne vs Slipknot vs Mushroomhead thing before and don't want to hear any more about it. That's well and good for YOU, but remember there may be others who want to voice their opinions on the subject. You can choose not to read it if you feel that strongly about it. Censoring threads is the last thing we need on here!

Lauren-IMO I'd put Mushroomhead as best masks, Slipknot for the best uniforms and Mudvayne best makeup! but I get your point...musically I like them all depending on my current mood ;D

Like saying "I hate this band cause of ...... reason" vs. "That band sucks and have no talent, I hate them!" When in fact you know there are big fans here of that particular band that is not Mudvayne. The way things are worded could make for either a fight where people start to get pissed off or just a good argument/topic to discuss. There's nothing wrong for voicing out an opinion, but lets try to be mature about such topics and respect other's love for whatever band(s) being discussed I feel the same way "about the highlighted" |
